    Market Leader WNEP-TV – Dreamcatcher Broadcasting has an immediate opening for a Local Sales Manager. Looking for an accomplished sales leader who takes pride in leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of sales professionals. The LSM is a progressive, creative thinker who can conceptualize, execute, and close revenue producing ideas that connect our advertiser’s goals to our unbeatable opportunities As an LSM, you will build a cohesive team, develop strategies, create, communicate and execute sales plans and initiatives to exceed expected revenue goals. Below are some job functions you will be responsible for and required to be successful in this position.

    • Manages a sales team to achieve and exceed budget
    • Establishes and implements strategic plans for sales team to grow market share
    • Has an excellent understanding of how to forecast future revenue
    • Understands the digital platform and can confidently represent all digital assets
    • Manage station event sales and other NTR projects
    • Develops effective sales presentations to generate new business
    • Possess a client-centric mind set and an understanding of solution-based selling
    • Continuously evaluates and trains the sales team.
    • Makes weekly sales calls, both independently and with sales personnel
    • Takes an active role in pricing meetings and inventory management
    • Manages and controls expenses
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Experience in managing a sales team in television or related industry is desired.  Excellent written, oral and presentation skills are required.  Must possess a valid Driver's License (or be able to obtain one).  Individual must also have strong computer skills.  Knowledge of Nielsen, Wide Orbit, Matrix, ShareBuilders and qualitative research is a plus.

    Education Requirements:



    • Degree required and minimum of 5 years of sales experience in television or related industry. Prior management experience helpful.    


    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must deal confidentially with sensitive information
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Must have strong managerial and supervisory skills
    • Must be able to develop client relationships, and have the ability to lead and motivate sales executives
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Nielsen, Comscore, Matrix, and Wide Orbit is recommended
    • Required to create documents and spreadsheets to help analyze local business and budgets
    • Must be creative, a good listener, aggressive, skilled negotiator and possess excellent presentation skills
    • Commitment to lifelong learning
    • Must have strong organizational and team building skills
    • Must have ability to prioritize and multi-task and work with minimum supervision
    • Must have proven customer service, problem solving and analytical skills
    • Must achieve all requirements with the highest integrity

    • Oversee negotiations for local business and new business development
    • Monitor, control and maximize sales inventory
    • Monitor and develop strategies to increase revenue share
    • Conduct weekly staff meetings with team and 1:1’s with direct reports to guide and direct desired outcomes
    • Maintain contact with local clients and agencies
    • Conduct and organize sales training
    • Conduct weekly review of all accounts including previous year spending, current status and projected spending
    • Participate in weekly inventory management meetings giving feedback on local pending business and market conditions
    • Contribute ideas, strategies and creation of sales packages an research materials
    • Work closely with Director of Sales in preparation for annual budget process
    • Review all local orders for acceptability based on the rate card
    • Develop and implement creative selling strategies for all WNEP platforms including TV, Digital, Mobile, OTT, and other emerging opportunities
    • Work with other departments to develop revenue opportunities
    • Must achieve revenue and share goals by quarter on all WNEP platforms
    • Additional duties as necessary
