For those having an interest in building and leading a team to drive and improve customer experience through Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, and Defect Reduction, this role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute their passion to a quickly scaling global HR team. Amazon is looking for a leader who is excited about transforming HR processes and build customer-centric, sustainable, and scalable mechanisms for Amazon€™s Global Benefits Administration. This includes operational performance and analysis, product development, continuous improvement and setting up mechanisms for compliance and data controls. As a thought-leader, the position collaborates with key business stakeholders and Operations leaders to ensure program success across the Amazon organization.
The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, organized planner with demonstrated ability to build and lead a team. The role needs relentless advocacy of customer pain points and challenging the status €“ quo. The candidate should be self-driven and possess the ability to work in an ambiguous environment with minimal guidance or supervision. As such, the candidate must be skilled at anticipating problems, creating contingency plans and managing multiple priorities.
Core responsibilities: Lead a cross functional team of Back Belts, Quality Assurance, Analytics, and Compliance PMs to:
· Build and execute the strategy for defect reduction and improving employee experience for benefits operations.
· Manage large, complex initiatives, delivering critical solutions, significant improvements, new mechanisms, or deprecating systems/processes that are not relevant or inefficient.
· Build and lead a team to deploy six €“ sigma and continuous improvement framework into benefits operations.
· Understand the architecture of the global benefits operations processes and influence business and operations teams to priorities the business strategy through data-driven contributions, monthly KPI€™s and quarterly white paper recommendations.
· Build processes to identify, track and report risks and bring them to the attention of the governance teams.
· Champion change management and prioritize areas of improvement. Develop, monitor, and report business process improvement against accepted standards.
· Build mechanisms to track and address customer escalations. Organize correction of errors (CoE) exercises to fix root causes.
· Define standard work for ongoing operations, training, communication and change management.
· Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.


- 15+ years of overall experience with at least 8+ in lean/six sigma, or similar quality and continuous improvement fields.
- Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and interest in supporting a global team.
- Experience developing, improving and implementing processes in large-scale, complex environments.
- Ability to handle responsibilities independently, while exercising good judgment in problem solving and keeping team members adequately informed.
- Excellent written and verbal skills as well as prioritization and planning skills €“ with strong attention to detail.
- Well-honed analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment.


- Master€™s degree or MBA in Operations discipline.
- Successful record of building, improving and running business processes globally.
- Strategic orientation, able to work with sophisticated financial analyses, assess and mitigate risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and anticipate and navigate scenarios in a complex business environment.
